A beautiful trek in the Langtang Region is away from the classic circuits. Halfway between the Annapurnas and the Rolwaling Himal, not far from Shishapangma (8012 m), the Langtang Region, north of Kathmandu, offers several large peaks, including Langtang Lirung (7225 m) and Dorje Lhakpa (6990 m), magnificent glacial pyramid at the bottom of the valley. The optional ascent of Tsergo Ri (4984 m), a superb belvedere, marks the highest altitude of the route. Other attractions on this itinerary are the sacred lakes of Gosainkund, a place of Hindu pilgrimage, as well as the many Tamang, Sherpa, and Newar villages
