The Annapurna region is an area in western Nepal where the most popular trekking Route is located. Generally, The region is taken to include areas around the Annapurna Range (Annapurna Himal), the Dhaulagiri Range, and the Kaligandaki River valley. Annapurna Region Area is a well-known trekking region. There are seven major trekking routes in the Annapurna region. They are the Narphu valley trek, the Mustang trek, the Annapurna Sanctuary route, poonhill, khorpa Ridge trek, Mardi himal trek, and the Annapurna Circuit trek. However, Geographically upper mustang is also part of the Annapurna region. The Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) is also located in the region.

The restricted trekking Area of the Annapurna Region


Additionally, the upper Mustang, Saribung pass, and Narphu valley Trekking are restricted areas because the board is close to Tibet. So, thenarphu valley trek trekker needs a special permit from the travel agency. Saribung pass and Narphu valley are less explored by trekkers. Even though, it has retained much of its original purity and beauty. Normally, the narphu valley trekking route has a very basic tea house. And, does not develop like the upper Mustang, Annapurna circuit, and base camp trek.

Sari bung (6346m) lies to the north of the Mustang region of Damodar Himal. Saribung is rated as the most dangerous and challenging pass in Nepal.  You need a camping arrangement for this trek and trekkers with some experience of trekking at high altitudes. for the Annapurna circuit trek (Thorong la pass), Annapurna base camp, and poonhill you need only an Annapurna Conservation Area project permit (Rs 3000) and TIMS cards (Rs 1000). This area is popular and more crowded by trekkers and has region has easily accessible teahouse and lodges. Road access And trekking route in Annapurna 


Annapurna circuit trek, upper mustang Trek usually takes 3 weeks from Kathmandu to Pokhara. However, continuing construction of roads in the Annapurna region has shortened trail end trekking Thorong la and mustang. However, Narphu valley can take 9 to 15 days to finish acclimatizing. construction of a road to Mustang, and Annapurna circuits have become the most popular destination in the world for mountain biking.

If you are trekking to Thorong La pass highly recommended that trekkers take the high trail from Pisang, Ghyaru via Ngawal to Manang, as the views are spectacular. The villages along the route are Tibetan-style villages still in their original state and Sleeping in e these villages help with acclimatization, as they are located already higher than Manang. After the Thorong La pass via Jomsom it is possible to continue the trek to Ghorepani, and poonhill to Pokhara.

Annapurna Conservation Survey Report

Annapurna Conservation Area was established in 2043 B.S. (1986 AD.) the area of about 7629 square kilometers (2,946 square mi.).  According to the survey report, Annapurna Conservation Area consists of some of the world’s highest peaks; Annapurna I (8,091m.) Humlung himal (7120m) and Machhapuchhre (6,993m.). The world’s deepest gorge, Kali Gandaki lies in the Annapurna conservation area. It also consists of Tilicho lake, one of the world’s highest altitudes. There are 1226 plant species, and 101 species of mammals including many rare species such as snow leopard, musk deer, Tibetan argali, and Tibetan wolf. There are  478 species of birds, 38 Orchid species, 39 species of reptiles, 22 species of amphibians, 9 species of rhododendrons, and 38 species of colorful flowering plants. They have made Annapurna Conservation Area attractive and Beautiful.
