Experience the Everest Panorama Trek, a short and scenic journey through Namche Bazaar, Khumjung, Phortse and Tengboche with spectacular views of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse and Nuptse. Discover authentic Sherpa culture, historic monasteries and the beauty of Nepal’s Khumbu region without trekking to Everest Base Camp.
The Everest Panorama Trek is an excellent short trek for travelers who want to experience the Everest region without going to Everest Base Camp or crossing high passes. The journey takes you deep into the Khumbu, the traditional homeland of the Sherpa people, with spectacular views of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, Thamserku and Kangtega.
The trek begins with a scenic flight to Lukla and follows the Dudh Koshi Valley toward Namche Bazaar. After an acclimatization day in Namche, the trail continues through Kunde and Khumjung before reaching Phortse and Tengboche, home to one of the most famous Buddhist monasteries in the Everest region.
The route is designed with gradual altitude gain and relatively short walking days. The highest overnight stays are around 3,860–3,930 m, making this a more accessible alternative to the Everest Base Camp trek.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Our representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in, you can relax and recover from your international journey.
Day 2: Kathmandu – Trek Preparation
Today is reserved for trek preparation and briefing. Your guide will check your trekking equipment and explain the itinerary, safety procedures, and arrangements for the Everest region.
You can also explore Kathmandu if time permits.
Day 3: Kathmandu – Lukla – Phakding
Take an early morning scenic flight toward Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. After meeting the local trekking crew, begin walking through the Dudh Koshi Valley.
The trail descends gently from Lukla before following the river toward Phakding.
The original itinerary gives approximately 3 hours of walking and an altitude of 2,610 m for Phakding.
Day 4: Phakding – Monjo
Continue north along the Dudh Koshi River. The trail passes through beautiful pine forests and crosses several suspension bridges.
Gradually climb toward Monjo, the entrance area to Sagarmatha National Park.
Day 5: Monjo – Namche Bazaar
Today is one of the more demanding sections as the trail climbs toward Namche Bazaar, the main trading and cultural center of the Khumbu.
Cross suspension bridges and follow the Dudh Koshi before beginning the steep climb to Namche. Along the way, you may get your first glimpses of Everest and Thamserku.
After arriving, explore the famous amphitheater-shaped town.
Day 6: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar
Today is dedicated to acclimatization.
Take a short hike above Namche toward the Syangboche area for panoramic mountain views. You can also explore Namche Bazaar, visit the local market, and enjoy the Sherpa culture.
The goal is to gain some altitude during the day while returning to Namche for the night.
The original itinerary specifically includes an acclimatization day in Namche with an optional higher walk toward Syangboche.
Day 7: Namche Bazaar – Khumjung
Leave Namche and walk through beautiful Himalayan Forest toward Kunde and Khumjung.
This section provides some of the first broad views of Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam. Depending on opening times, there may be an opportunity to visit the Hillary school and local community sites.
Day 8: Khumjung – Phortse
Continue gradually higher into the Khumbu Valley. The trail passes through beautiful landscapes with increasingly impressive views of the Himalayan peaks.
This is intentionally a steady day to support acclimatization.
Day 9: Phortse – Pangboche – Tengboche
Today you trek through spectacular mountain scenery toward Tengboche.
The route crosses the Dudh Koshi and passes beneath Thamserku and Kangtega before descending toward the Imja Khola. Continue to Tengboche, dominated by its famous Buddhist monastery and surrounded by dramatic views of Ama Dablam.
Day 10: Tengboche – Namche Bazaar
After visiting Tengboche and enjoying the mountain views, begin descending through beautiful rhododendron and pine forests.
The trail eventually reconnects with the route to Namche. Enjoy your final views of the spectacular Khumbu peaks.
Day 11: Namche Bazaar – Phakding
Continue descending through the Dudh Koshi Valley.
The trail follows the same route toward Monjo and Phakding, with the lower altitude making breathing easier. Take your time on the downhill sections.
Day 12: Phakding – Lukla
Today is your final trekking day.
Follow the Dudh Koshi back toward Lukla, passing through small Sherpa settlements and forests. Arrive in Lukla and celebrate the completion of your Everest Panorama Trek.
Day 13: Lukla – Kathmandu
Take the morning flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu, weather and flight conditions permitting.
Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free for rest, shopping or sightseeing.
Day 14: Contingency / Free Day in Kathmandu
This is a flexible day kept as a weather and flight contingency day. It is especially useful because flights to and from Lukla can be affected by mountain weather.
If everything has gone according to schedule, enjoy a free day in Kathmandu.
The original program also uses Day 14 as a buffer day for weather or itinerary delays.
Day 15: Kathmandu – International Departure
Enjoy your final free time in Kathmandu before transferring to the airport for your international flight.
Depending on your flight schedule, the departure may take place later on Day 14 or Day 15.
Day 16: Arrival Home
Arrive at your home destination, marking the end of your Everest Panorama Trek.
