This technical mountaineering course equips climbers with advanced skills for navigating challenging alpine terrain, including rock, ice, and snow. Learn essential techniques such as rope handling, glacier travel, crevasse rescue, and avalanche safety, while building the confidence needed for high-altitude expeditions. Perfect for those seeking to elevate their mountaineering skills.
The course typically lasts for around 20 days, during which participants undergo rigorous training under the guidance of experienced mountaineering instructors. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including:
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN KATHMANDU
DAY2: PREPARATION, ORIENTATION, EQUIPMENT CHECK
After breakfast, we'll have a meeting to get familiar with the plan and make sure we have all the right gear. You can use the rest of the day to wander around Kathmandu, try some local food, and maybe pick up anything else you need for the journey. Later, we'll have a nice dinner together and talk more about what to expect on our trip.
DAY 3: DRIVE TO SYBRUBESI (1550M)
After breakfast, we'll take a drive along the hills to the northwest of Kathmandu. Along the way, you can soak in the stunning views of the Himalayas and see how people live in the mountains, passing by fields and small villages. Our destination for the day is Syabrubesi, where we'll spend the night.
DAY 4: TREK TO LAMA HOTEL (2380M)
Today marks the start of our trek. We'll walk alongside the Langtang River, going through a thick forest. The path isn't too tough, and we'll cross some suspension bridges and pass by tea houses. By evening, we'll arrive at the Lama Hotel. Later on, we'll talk about preventing altitude sickness.
DAY 5: TREK TO LANGTANG VILLAGE (3430M)
Today, we're headed to Langtang village. We'll begin our trek after breakfast. We'll pass through beautiful green forests and cross rivers along the way, following the Langtang River. Along the trail, you'll see some interesting monuments like Mani walls and chortens. By evening, we'll arrive at Langtang village and spend some time practicing map reading, tying knots, and learning about managing campsites
DAY 6: TREK TO KYANJIN GOMPA (3850M)
DAY 7: ACCLIMATIZATION DAY
Today, we're heading out for a hike to Kyanjin Ri. It'll be about 3-5 hours. Kyanjin Ri is a cool spot up high at 4773m / 15655 ft. Then, we'll head back down to Kyanjin Gomba for lunch. After lunch, we'll dive into some training. We'll learn about Jumaring (Self Rescue), Active Rappelling, and knot & rope techniques.
DAY 8: TREK TO TSORKU PEAK LOWER BASE CAMP (4500M)
DAY 9: TREK TO HIGHER BASE CAMP (4870M)
DAY 10: HIKE TO TSORKU PEAK GLACIER FOR TRAINING
DAY 11: HIKE TO TSORKU PEAK GLACIER FOR TRAINING
After we eat breakfast, we'll start our training when we get to the Glacier. We'll learn about top rope ice climbing, how to stay safe and belay properly, and techniques for using ice and snow anchors. Plus, we'll practice using an ice axe to stop ourselves if we fall. We'll be staying in tents at a campsite.
DAY 12: HIKE TO TSORKU PEAK GLACIER FOR TRAINING
DAY 13: SUMMIT DAY
DAY 14: EXTRA DAY FOR SUMMIT
Extra day if any weather hazard or other circumstances cancel the summit day.
DAY 15: TREK BACK TO KYANJIN GOMBA
