Overview
The Rupina La Pass trek was initially opened by the government of Nepal in 1991. The trek is a combination of geographic wonders and cultural richness. The trek will offer majestic views of various peaks such as Ganesh Himal 7,422 meters, Mount Himalchuli 7,853 meters, Mount Manaslu 8,163 meters and Shringi Himal 7,161 meters. One of the highlights of the trek is the Jherang Caves. These caves consist of 108 natural water taps that emerge from the rock.
The trek becomes richer through the exchange of interaction with the friendly locals. The historic monasteries that reflect the Buddhist culture will amaze you. Furthermore, the natural beauty, the stunning landscape, and the variety of flora and fauna will enhance your trip.

Trip Organization
Your Guide and Team During the Trek
Your guide, from your arrival in Kathmandu until your departure, is responsible for the success of your trip and oversees your team. Do not hesitate to ask him questions, respect his position as the team leader, and above all, follow his advice! Often, your guide is the only English-speaking member of the team. In the mountains, especially during high-altitude travels, your guide is responsible for the safety of the group. The instructions he gives and the remarks he makes to all participants must be carefully followed. The interest and safety of the trekking group must be preserved, even when it may be to the detriment of an individual member of the group.
Your Nepalese team may consist of several people, each with different responsibilities. They are:
The Guide Leader (Sirdar): is responsible for and leader of the whole team and is treated with respect by all. Often, he has earned his position by starting as a porter and rising through the ranks.
The Assistant Guide: actively helps clients under the leader’s direction and set camp.
The Cook is responsible for all meals and is on a trek that doesn’t use lodges for meals.
The kitchen boy is an assistant to the cook. ( camping trek )sets
The Porter: is the load carrier for the trekking group. As Nepal is a mountain country with few roads, porters are employed to carry loads. Compliance with regulations and common courtesy dictates the maximum weight carried and the minimum wage paid. Porters are provided with gear based on the routes they follow and with insurance for alpine treks.
Each trekker is allotted the following maximum weights per person:
For Lodge (tea house) Accommodations:15 kg maximum;
Tent Camping: 22 kg maximum; Expeditions/summit ascents: 20 kg maximum. The porters are given a premium wage for carrying loads over 30 kg.
Additionally, the Alpinist Club ensures that insurance is provided for the guide and porters. They are also equipped with specific gear for crossing high-altitude passe.

Physical level in Manaslu circuit Trek
This program is designed for those who exercise regularly, especially in endurance activities. You only need to carry a daypack with essentials. The trek lasts 10 days, with daily hikes of 6 to 7 hours and altitude changes between 400 m and 1,350 m. The Larkya Pass (5,150 m) often has snow later in the season.
Preparation for the Trek
Preparing for the trek requires several months of preparation with 4 to 6-hour walks every weekend for stamina and participating in a sport that requires short periods of high exertion.
Medical check-up
Being in good health is essential to fully enjoying your Alpinist Club trip. If your last medical visit was more than four years ago, please get another general physical exam and tell your doctor the nature of your trip (climate, altitude, difficulty, etc.). The altitude also has the effect of reviving dental problems or other chronic pain, so getting a dental checkup is also prudent. If you are undertaking a high-altitude expedition, we advise you to consult a mountain medicine specialist.
Acute Mountain Sickness
This trip takes place at high altitudes, so some people may experience altitude-related discomforts like headaches, loss of appetite, and swelling of limbs. Most of these symptoms usually go away within a few days, but sometimes they can develop into a serious illness: pulmonary or cerebral edema. There are no preventive drugs for AMS. Diamox diuretic is often effective for symptomatic relief, but you should first check with your doctor to verify that it is not contraindicated for you. Think about it before you go.
Safety During Manaslu Circuit Trek
Safety has always been our top priority at Alpinist. Our team of expert guides is dedicated to leading a fun and successful climb while ensuring that safety remains uncompromised. We plan carefully, considering daily weather forecasts and paying diligent attention as we venture into high altitudes. Throughout the journey, we carry comprehensive medical kits, rescue equipment, and reliable radio and satellite communication gear.

FAQ's
Expand AllThe Rupina La Pass, which rises roughly 4,720 meters (15,485 feet) above sea level, is the highest point of the Rupina La Pass Trek. Proper acclimatization and a steady ascent are essential to reduce the hazards associated with altitude.
The Rupina La Pass trek's highest point is 4,720 meters. With the exception of the difficult stretch between Jarang and Rupina La Phedi, the trek is usually easy. Although it is beneficial, prior trekking or climbing expertise is not necessary. It is appropriate for inexperienced hikers because no climbing equipment is required.
The Rupina La Pass Trek is best done in the spring (March to May) and fall (September to November) when the weather is generally stable, with clear skies and comfortable temperatures that are perfect for hiking.
Beautiful views of peaks like Manaslu and Ganesh Himal, as well as pristine landscapes, deep forests, charming towns, and the thrill of passing the high-altitude Rupina La Pass, are all part of the journey. It also offers a chance to learn about the distinctive culture of the Tibetan and Gurung communities in the area.
The Rupina La Pass trek combines camping and teahouse trekking to reach the Manaslu region. Clean sleeping blankets are provided, together with a cozy bed and a well-ventilated room, at teahouses or lodges. However, we advise you to bring your sleeping bags.
You will need two permits for the trek. You will need the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) permit and the Trekkers’ Information Management System (TIMS) for the entire trek.
The Rupina La Pass hike is even closer to Lake City Pokhara than it is to Kathmandu, which is around 127 kilometers away. Starting from Gorkha Bazar, this journey can be finished in a week. When combined with the journey to Tsum Valley and Larkya La Pass, it takes longer.
The Rupina La Pass Trek carries a danger of altitude sickness, particularly when ascending the 4,720-meter-high mountain. It's important to acclimate properly, drink enough water, and climb steadily. It is also strongly advised to have travel insurance that includes coverage for high-altitude trekking.
The trek requires moderate physical fitness due to the long walking hours, rugged trails, and high altitude. It's a good idea to start doing strength and cardiovascular training a few weeks before the walk.
A variety of traditional Nepali dishes, including dal Bhat (lentil soup with rice and veggies), noodles, soups, and seasonal vegetables, are served during the hike. The selections may be limited in distant regions, particularly while camping and the trekking crew prepares the meals. It's a good idea to bring energy bars or snacks.
Due to its remoteness, communication facilities are limited in the Rupina La Pass Trek. While some teahouses may offer basic mobile network coverage or satellite phones, it is not guaranteed in all areas. It is recommended to inform your family and friends of possible communication delays.
