The village itself is rich in traditional culture, offering a glimpse into the lifestyle of the local communities who have lived in harmony with this rugged environment for generations.
From Ghyaru, the trail follows the scenic “balcony route,” a pathway that clings to the mountainside and rewards trekkers with stunning vistas at every turn. Along this trail, we descend gently toward Ngawal, another picturesque village at 3,600 meters, where we spend the night in a comfortable tea house or lodge. This segment of the trek is as much about experiencing the awe-inspiring Himalayan landscapes as it is about immersing yourself in the rich cultural heritage of the region.

The monastery and the village are tucked among fairy chimneys, with some ancient frescoes located in very dark sections—headlamps are recommended to fully appreciate these historical treasures. After exploring this enchanting village, we continue for a few more kilometers (about an hour) to reach Manang, the final authentic settlement in the Marsyangdi Valley.
