HIKE AND NAVIGATION COURSE
This is also one of the popular courses offered by us. It is a five-day short-duration course that takes place in Kathmandu. The major objective of this course is to gain essential skills such as recognizing all the map information, proper use of the compass, and integrating both skills. Activities such as Map scale and legend reading, map setting, understanding contours, recognizing land features, measuring map distance, and using a compass will be conducted in order to gain the above-mentioned skills. The trainee will gain knowledge about magnetic north, true north, and magnetic variation (declination). This course is perfect for experienced hill walkers who need to build confidence in planning routes and navigating the terrain.
BASIC ROCK-CLIMBING COURSE
Our basic rock climbing course covers the fundamental skills, and technical knowledge that are needed for safe and successful rock climbing. This course is suitable for beginners with no prior experience in rock climbing. This is a short-term duration course that will be conducted in Kathmandu. The trainee will receive instruction in a range of subjects, including how to use and maintain climbing shoes, helmets, carabiners, harnesses, and ropes. In addition to teaching basic climbing movements, tactics, and communication cues for efficient climbing and clear communication, belaying, knot-tying, and anchor usage instruction stress safety. Together with an introduction to climbing grades and route reading, the course also covers climbing ethics, Leave No Trace guidelines, and top-rope climbing. To guarantee thorough training, safety inspections, falling procedures, and an optional introduction to lead climbing are included during the course.
