How do I go to Saipal Himal ?

If you have decided to undertake this adventure that hasn’t been explored yet then here is the detailed information to reach Saipal Himal Base Camp. The adventure journey includes both travel by air and trekking.

LAND IN NEPAL

The first step to start your journey is to land in Nepal.  Kathmandu, the capital city of the nation is the main entry point for all international travelers. Thus you have to booked a flight to Kathmandu. 

FLIGHT FROM KATHMANDU TO NEPALGUNG 
Once you have landed in Kathmandu, you can explore the city. Meanwhile, you also need to prepare yourself for the trekking. You can purchase all the essential gear and equipment for the trek. The next day you have to fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj. It takes 50 min to reach Nepalgunj from Kathmandu. Nepalgunj lies in the Terai region close to Indian borders. It is quite hot during summer days here.


FLIGHT FROM NEPALGANG TO SIMKOT

Now it’s time to leave the Nepalgunj humidity and head towards the Himalayan region.  You need to take a flight from Nepalgunj to Simkot.  It will take almost 35 minutes to reach Simkot from Nepalgunj by flight.


TREKKING TO SAIPAL HIMAL BASE CAMP 

A real adventure journey begins from the Simkot. You need to trek for nearly 15 days from Simkot village to Saipal Himal Base Camp. The journey takes fifteen days, starting with gentle climbs through the towns of Chipra and Raya, to reach Saipal Himal Base Camp from Simikot. It travels over tough terrain and passes that provide expansive landscapes, such as Khadikhani Pass (4,300m) close to Lampato.  The major highlights of the trek include trekking through high-altitude terrain like Sakya Lagna (4,700m) and descending to settlements like Chala and Yalbang, as well as trips to the Eastern and North Saipal Base Camps. The trip ends with a hike back to Simikot, completing an arduous but worthwhile round through isolated Himalayan scenery.


FLY  BACK TO SIMKOT  – NEPALGUNG – KATHMANDU

It’s time to fly back to Kathmandu with a bag full of wonderful memories. On the 19th day of the trek, you need to fly back to Kathmandu. Firstly you have to fly to Nepalgunj from Simkot.  Then, take a flight to Kathmandu.  It will take almost 1 hour 30 min for the entire journey.
